Neutral Zone Insoluble Colloidal Buffer

Insoluble Solid Buffer

Neutral Zone® is an insoluble colloidal buffer that is suspended in water.  It can be injected at high concentrations without causing an adversely high pH around injection points because the base is liberated by the very acid it will neutralize and not by dissolution in water, which could raise pH too high.  The colloidal solids can be moved through an aquifer by the higher velocities during injection, but become immobile under ambient flow conditions.  The retained buffer is designed maintain pH for months to years.

Microscopic Particle Size

Neutral Zone® consists of small micron to sub-micron sized particles of calcium carbonate suspended in water by a proprietary blend of additives.  It has a long shelf life and is easily handled in the field.  The small particles minimize aquifer permeability loss and well screen clogging.

Safe to Use

Neutral Zone® has no anions or cations that would be considered a contaminant, such as sodium or phosphate.  The primary ingredients are food-grade.  It is not toxic, corrosive, or otherwise hazardous to the environment or to those who ship, handle, or dispose the material.
